Echo Screen by Furn Object Wins IDA Design Award | Collectible Design by Anna & Sergii Baierzdorf

Dear Reader,

Milan Design Week was a whirlwind, and now we're happy to take a step back and reflect on how it went for Furn Object. We revealed our new collection, Portals, at Alcova Milano as part of a group showcase by Room File at the Baggio Military Hospital.

The Portals Collection explores material escapism. It's inspired by the need to step outside external events and reconnect with oneself.
The collection includes the Island Table, the Gate Mirror, the Glimpse Sconce, and the Glimpse Floor Lamp.

The Glimpse Floor Lamp was featured in the Architectural Digest trend report from Milan Design Week, published across the U.S., German, Italian, Spanish, Mexican, and Middle Eastern editions, highlighting Furn Object within the global contemporary design conversation.

According to AD Germany editor, Fiona Bornhoeft:

"Furn Object softened metal's usual sharpness and hardness, and made it appear to almost melt.”

This approach runs throughout the collection, where metal and glass furniture elements come together to form uneven, asymmetrical shapes that visually flow.

The objects appear as if they have only just begun to manifest in space or are already dissolving in time.

This sense of impermanence is immortalized in metal, anchoring us in the present moment.

We have a lot of love for Alcova and had a great time joining the event again with Room File, this time in Milan.

Salone is known to have too many exciting designs to see them all, and we're grateful to everyone who took the time to see ours.

Warmly,

Anna & Sergii Baierzdorf
